HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

On this past Sunday, May 4, Morian and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. I can't believe it has been 2 years already! Where has the time gone? I love being married to Morian! He's great! And he's gonna be a great daddy here in a few months! Anyways! Anyways, since our big day landed on a Sunday, we went out on Saturday and did most of our "celebrating."
First, we went to the 'dollar' theater and saw "Penelope." Interesting storyline. Kinda cute!

Then we went to dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. (That was where we had our first date.) Here's me and my fat self in front of the sign and you can even see Morian in the window, taking the picture! After dinner we walked around the mall for a while b/c well, after a movie and dinner, for a pregnant woman, that's a lot of sitting! In the game store, we saw these hats! Good times!Morian is being the "cat" in the hat! hehe! After the movie and dinner and walking, it was still early, so we went back to the 'dollar' theater and watched another movie! This time it was "The Spiderwick Chronicles." It was pretty intense for a kids' movie, but I kinda liked it.

Our weekend trip to Vegas

Last weekend, Morian and I had a lot going on. On Friday, April 25, my sister Kayley graduated from BYU.

Then we had our ultrasound done (see previous post) and lunch with the family.

Then, Morian and I took off for St. George. Our final destination was actually Las Vegas, but we stayed the night in St. George. We ate at In-N-Out Burger, which had just opened that week. It was pretty crazy busy, especially the drive-thru line (which we did not do!)

Saturday took us to Las Vegas, and more specifically UNLV. The law school was hosting an open house for prospective students and Morian wanted to check it out. Unfortunately, we both forgot about the time change, so we got there an hour early. So we wandered around campus, getting a feel for it. It's pretty nice and new-looking. And it felt so nice outside with the warm weather! We went into the Student Union Building so I could get something to eat (I am always hungry!) and I saw this sign for an activity happening on campus. I thought it was hilarious, so I had to take a picture:

After the open house, Morian and I went to the Las Vegas Temple. It's like as far away from the city as it can get and still be in the city. It was so peaceful and beautiful. And I loved all the palm trees!

After our temple excursion, we took off for the strip. Quite a contrast, eh? Such a different feeling. Actually, we hit up the MGM Grand Hotel first so we could eat dinner. On our way through the maze of the casinos, we saw this lion's den thing. Both lions were asleep in an area where we could stand right below them and look up and see them. At one point, the male lion stretched and rolled over and gave us a very good view of his mouth! We finally made it to dinner at The Rainforest Cafe. I had never eaten there before, so it was fun to try it out. Morian and I opted to sit at the bar instead of waiting in line for a table. The stools were shaped to look like bottom half of animals. Morian was sitting on a dalmatian and I was sitting on a duck. The food was good, though a bit expensive. Oh well!

After dinner, we finally took a stroll down the strip. Actually, it was more like a fast-paced walk, which I can't seem to do so easily anymore. Bummer! But, we got to the Bellagio Hotel just in time to stake out a spot and watch the fountain show. It was cool! We scurried up to the Treasure Island Hotel to watch the show they have there, but what a disappointment! They've skanked it up since Morian saw it last, but we were pretty much stuck there b/c there were so many people! Arg! My feet were so sore by the end of the day (I was only wearing flip-flops!), I could barely walk! Morian practically had to drag me back to the car!

Because of the time change, it was like almost 2 AM by the time we got back to our hotel in St. George. We slept in as late as possible Sunday morning. In fact, Morian went and checked us out while I was still getting ready! We went to Sacrament Meeting at the church building across the street from the temple (which is where my grandparents went to church when they lived in St. George, kiddy-corner from the temple.) After church, we went to the visitor's center to see this new display they have- bronze statues of the Savior that were done by an opera singer who decided to try her hand at sculpting. They were amazing! Then we took a walk around the temple. I love the St. George Temple. It's so white and just seems to shine in the sunshine!

And that's about it for our weekend. Sorry it's so long!
