Comparison

So, I thought it was time I did a comparison between this pregnancy and when I was pregnant with Devin. I'm just as far along in both pictures. I've been thinking I'm so much bigger this time around b/c I popped out so much quicker, but I guess I'm about just as big as last time. Although, when I was pregnant with Devin, I still fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans at this time. This time around, I'm having to wear the jeans I bought right after I had Devin, which are definitely bigger! Course, I think this little girl is hanging out in my pelvis, which makes my pants tighter there.

Cloth Diaper Giveaway

So, I have toyed with the idea of using cloth diapers with baby #2. I have a friend who does it and she has been happy with it, for the most part. I found a blog that reviewed a cloth diaper called katydid cloth diapers and they are giving away one to a lucky winner. I think it would be cool to win, so I could give the diaper a try for free! Funny Story

So, I just had to record this so I would remember and thought all you readers with kids of your own might get a kick outta this! Devin and I went to the neighboring school's park this morning and was playing on the playground when we heard a bell ring inside the building. Devin was in the process of climbing up the stairs to go down a slide when he heard it and stopped. He listened for a sec and then proceeded to grab at his pants and then put his hand up to his ear and started talking. And when he was done, he "handed" it to me to talk for a minute before putting it back. He totally acted like it was a phone ringing and since Mommy and Daddy keep their phones in their pockets, that's where his was too! Isn't being a little kid great?!

The verdict is in...

I had my ultrasound done this morning. Morian and Devin came with me. The jelly stuff they put on my belly was hot and it felt good! I think with Devin it was cold! Devin seemed concerned that I had stuff on my belly and so I had to hold his hand to assure him that I was okay!
It was a lot clearer picture than the one I had with Devin, so I could actually tell what things were! When we started, Baby Boo was breach, sitting bum down. But after a while Baby Boo started moving around.
Here's a foot:
Profile shot:
I love that you can see that Baby Boo is resting his/her chin on his/her hand!
At first Baby Boo's legs were all curled up, but then he/she finally stretched 'em out long!
Here's a good shot of Baby Boo's arm
Wondering whether Baby Boo is a girl or boy yet?!

Looks like Baby Boo is a GIRL!!! (Nice bum shot!)
We're super excited to welcome a little girl into our home in 5 short/long months!

I can be creative!

So, when I was expecting Devin, my grandpa gave me a rocking chair that he had. I can't remember if he actually built it, of just had it for a long time. Well, it had no cushions on it and sitting on it to nurse Devin wasn't so comfortable. So we put this back massager thing on it. It was a little better, except for when you found the massager piece in the middle of your back! I decided I wanted cushions for it, but ones that matched Devin's bedding and such. Well, for that to happen, I had to make my own. I decided to use receiving blankets that matched and bought them. But then they sat in the bag for a long time. I had no idea how I was going to actually to make those blankets into cushions. Then my sister got a sewing machine for her birthday. She has been making these little bags out of place mats, and it kind of got me in the mood to finally make those cushions. So I found the blankets, made some patterns, cut up some pillows, and went to work. I kinda wish I had documented each step with pictures, but all I have is the end product.
A close-up of the seat cushion. At first I was going to just have it the shape of the pillow, but then I was daring and tried to cut it in the shape of the seat. It was harder than I expected, but it turned out okay.
Here is the back. I did keep it the shape of the pillow b/c it fit just fine like that.
This is the back. I was going to put velcro on the straps, and got some sewed onto the top ones, but had trouble with the next set, so it will just be tied. I may end up taking the velcro off and having those tie as well. The bottom tie is from the seat cushion.
I made them so they could be reversible. The back and seat both of a side with the frogs and ducks and then the back has a green plaid side and the seat has a yellow stripe side.
Definitely amateur-looking, but for having not used a sewing machine in 9 years and having no official pattern, I think I did pretty good, if I do say so myself! And they definitely make the rocking chair much more comfortable now!
