Kenzie's first time to the Dentist

Kenzie had her first (and Devin had his third) trip to the dentist on Jan. 31. They both got taken back at the same time; Morian went with Devin and I stayed with Mackenzie. Devin was about this same age the first time he went to the dentist and he screamed bloody murder when the dentist just tried to look at his teeth. Kenzie is a lot more wary of strangers and so I expected this visit to be very similar. It couldn't have been more different! The dental assistant actually came in and cleaned her teeth before the dentist came to take a look. I sat Kenzie on my lap and held her the whole time. She did fantastic!

First professional hair cut

Devin was in need of another hair cut, but this time Morian took him to a barber/beauty school just down the street. 

Poor kid was so tired he started falling asleep!

Merry Christmas!

So, we spent Christmas Day (2011) with my family. Morian came up in the morning and the whole family 

went to church together. We had an early dinner with my grandparents so they could get back home before it got dark. Then we busted into the presents. I only took like 3 pictures of that whole process (and they aren't even very good) so nothing to document it. Kind of sad!

We were supposed to go to Morian's mom's house the day after Christmas to hang out with her and his sisters, but his mom was feeling sick, so we went to my (other) grandparents' house for dinner with my extended family. It's fun, but crazy being so close to so much family!

Since we missed getting together with Morian's family at Christmas time and his birthday is January 1, his mom and sisters and nephew came over to our house on the first to celebrate both. I made a turkey, which was my very first time ever making one. I had never even watched anyone prepare a turkey before! And, if I do say so myself, it turned out very nice!

After a yummy dinner, it was time to hurry and open presents so Mackenzie could go to bed! It was pure craziness!

Devin got a bag of random toys (probably from the dollar store) from Morian's sted-dad which Devin and Kenzie both enjoyed playing with! A favorite with everyone was the google-eye glasses. Aah, good times!
