Christmas Post #2

After a fun-filled evening with Morian's family, we came back to our apartment and spent the night. And when Devin woke up (Morian and I actually woke up before he did!) we had our very own "Christmas morning" festivities. We opened to presents from each other before heading up to my parents house. Devin's first present was a pair of snow pants, but we made the mistake of letting him open the gift from our Bishop first, which was filled with sweets. Devin would not let go of the bag of fudge, even to open his present, so he did it all with one hand. It was quite funny to watch!
Out comes the tissue paper
Maybe holding it upside down will help it come out!
And finally the snow pants! Doesn't he just look so excited?!
Here's Devin getting ready to open a present from Mom and Dad
Morian with his gifts from me and Devin- the DVD "3 Amigos" and a BYU beanie
Me with my present from Morian- candy and a mini SD memory card for my phone
So we spent most of Christmas Day up at my parents house, opening presents and playing games and just hanging out. All of my siblings and in-laws and two grandsons were there, so it was a crazy-full house, but so much fun! And next year there will be another little guy running around!
Devin is all sorts of ready to ready presents!
This is my sister-in-law, Lena. She is expecting their first child due in March. My brother is a bit of a nerd. He's the one who gave her the shirt.
Does he remind you of anyone in these boots and the way he is standing?
(Can we say Napoleon Dynamite?! Hilarious!)
Devin figured it was easier to open the presents if someone else held it for him!
Here Grandma helped Devin open another present
In the evening we went over to my grandparents house for dinner and a white elephant gift exchange. That was pretty entertaining as always! At least we came away with something good! A little toy for Devin and a bag of gummy bears! Woohoo!
I hope everyone else had a good holiday weekend and aren't too sleep-deprived! We used Saturday as a major catch-up on sleep day! Thank goodness for that!
(And hey, I finally made it to 100 posts! Wowzers!)

Christmas Post #1

We spent Christmas Eve day with Morian's mom and sisters. Before we put Devin to sleep, he got to open his stocking and presents.
He was so happy to have his very own stocking!
I wonder what could be inside!
Devin was excited to see it was his very own phone!
Gosh, he's so cute!
Devin opening his first Christmas present of the season
Devin definitely knew what to do with the wrapping paper this year!
(I wanted to upload the video we took of Devin unwrapping his present, but it's too big. Too bad, b/c it's fun!)
Devin looking super cute with his present
Displaying our gifts from Morian's youngest sister, Shari
she took these pictures herself
aren't they awesome?!

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Morian's mom's gave us a our very first Christmas tree this year. We put it up in its stand on the 14th, but waited until the next day to decorate so Devin could help. While Morian was figureing out how the stand worked, I put water in it (not really knowing to wait until after the tree was in it.) This is what Devin proceeded to do:

After dumping the water out, Morian got back to work and got the tree in the stand and began tightening the screws. It was kind of hard b/c the tree has a really short stem, so I had to hold the tree up while he worked.
Devin wasn't quite sure what Morian was doing
But he thought he'd better lie down next to the tree as well!
And here is Morian putting the lights up
we only had one short string of lights that my Grandpa had given us a year or two ago, but we made it work!
Devin looking at the ornament he got from Grandma last year that says, Baby's 1st Christmas. It's a rocking horse with a teddy bear and also says his name.
Putting it on the tree
Devin was so excited to put up his ornament
Morian's turn to help decorate the tree
Devin loved being able to help
Kirsta's turn to put up an ornament
The finished project
we don't have a lot of ornaments- pretty much what you can see if what we've got
But hey, we've only been married for 3 years. We've got plenty of time to collect more!

Scary Santa

At our ward Christmas party on December 12, Santa Claus came to visit the kids. I took Devin up and he was so scared! He clung to me, wrapping his little legs around my waist! He did take the candy cane Santa offered, but he started crying when Santa tried to sit him on his lap! we were going to take him to see Santa at the library and possibly the mall, but maybe we won't now!
A close-up:
Check out that face! Devin was terrified!
We got a decently nice picture of our family with Santa. But Devin was like, "Why are we going back to him?!" and I had to make sure he didn't get to close to Santa! Silly boy!

Makeover

Some of you know that I recently won a free makeover from a salon here in town. I got a haircut and style, new color, make-up application know-how, and a manicure. I was at the salon for about 4 hours! It was nice to feel pampered! Morian was able to be at home and watch Devin for me. Thanks hon!
This is what I looked like before (on a good day!):
And here are a few after shots:
