Happy Birthday!

Monday, July 6, was my birthday. I turned 26 years old! Morian had the day off from work and took me out to breakfast at Market Street Grill in downtown. (We always go out for dinner and I wanted something different.) We both got omelettes, which were pretty good.
Then we tried to go to the temple. Morian had checked online to double check that it was open on Mondays, which it is until 11 AM. Well, as we got to the conference center parking garage, we see this sign that says, Temple Closed. We were like, Huh? We continued down anyways and saw another sign that read, Temple closed July 6-20. I'm guessing it's for cleaning and whatnot. Morian had forgotten to check the closure dates. So, we weren't able to go. Bummer deal dude! We went home where Morian's little sister, Shari, was watching Devin. We all just kinda hung out for a while and then I decided I wanted to go shopping. I had some money from my mom to spend and Morian was gonna buy me some shorts for my birthday. I ended up getting a pair of white shoes I can wear to church (NOT flip-flops!) and 2 pairs of shorts. We also bought some swimming trunks for Devin. So cute!

I also had a coupon for a free ice cream from Coldstone. I got Country Time Pink Lemonade sorbet with mini gummy bears mixed in. It was good! But it did seem to melt pretty quickly, so I was almost drinking it! Devin shared it with me- he pretty much likes anything sweet. He gets that from me!
Tuesday afternoon, we had a girl from our ward come over and watch Devin so Morian and I could go to the temple. And this time we made it! It was so great to be inside the temple again, which I have only done a few times since Devin was born. We've been trying to go for a while and something always seems to come up that keeps up from going. Hopefully we can start going like once a month!

4th of July Weekend Part 2/Happy Independence Day!

Morian did have to work on the 4th, but only 9-2. After he got home from work, we drove up to Layton to spend the afternoon and evening with my family and my parents' house. We had a barbecued chicken, corn on the cob, a green salad, potato salad, chips, and watermelon/cantaloupe/honeydew. Yum! We watched like the second half of X-Men 3 on my parents' new flat screen TV. We also celebrated my birthday, which is the 6th. My mom made a cake like an American Flag using strawberries and boysenberries, and there was cookies 'n cream ice cream and rainbow sherbet to go along with it. I opened presents from my parents and siblings and pretty much got upstaged by my son! In all the pictures Morian took of me it looks like he was shooting Devin, and I just happened to be opening presents and such in the background! hehe! Devin really enjoyed the huge sucker I got! He didn't even need the wrapper off, it was that good! He also wanted to try on the apron I got. I've been needing one for a while, so I'm excited about it! I put Devin to sleep in his car seat up in my little sister's room around 9 PM and then we all stood out on the decks and watched fireworks in the distance. By the time we left it was after 11:00. I was so tired! Thankfully Devin stayed asleep the whole time! And, after waking up at 6:15 this morning to nurse, he went back to sleep for another 2 hours, which he has never done before! Go baby!

4th of July Weekend Part 1

Morian had July 3rd off, so we got to spend the whole day together. Well, minus a couple hours where I went and got my hair cut and colored! (Pretty much the same 'do as I had before, maybe a little shorter, and much blonder!) That was my birthday present from Morian. We went to Morian's mom's house in the afternoon. We introduced Devin to the swimming pool for the first time (besides letting him sit on the edge and stick his feet in the water). He really liked it, I think. Every time we took him out, he wanted to get back in. And always with Morian. The water was a little cold, but you got used to it the more you were in it. We also had a bbq with hamburgers, corn on the cob (my fav!), baked beans, chips, and watermelon. Yum!
