So b/c of the holiday this past weekend (which Morian already had off) he took a couple extra days off to spend with family.
JULY 2
Morian didn't have this day off, but he dropped Devin and I off at a friend's house (who lives close to a pool) on his way to work. (She has a little boy about 5 months younger than Devin.) We hung out there for a couple hours, waiting for the pool to open. And then we went swimming! It was indoors, thank goodness! It was one of those pools with toys and such for little kids. Devin was a little hesitant at first, but then he got used to the water and enjoyed himself! He especially liked going down the slide with Mommy! Devin fell asleep in his stroller on the way back to her house so we ended up staying longer than originally planned! After he woke up, we played some more and took a trip to Costco for the free samples before heading home at like 5:00! Too late we realized we should have taken pictures. Oh well!
JULY 3We spent the afternoon and evening with Morian's mom and 2 of his sisters. Devin decided to take an early, short nap, so we got there earlier than expected. Morian's sisters had gone to a movie with their dad and his mom was getting food ready. Morian was asked to vacuum the pool and while he did that Devin wanted to put his feet in and kick. Pretty soon, he was trying to get in! So we quickly changed into our swimsuits and got in. The weather wasn't the greatest for outdoor swimming, but the water was pretty nice, so as long as you stayed in the water you were fine! Patty (Morian's mom) bought this floatie thing for Devin last year. Last year, Devin did not want anything to do with it! This year, he willingly got in it and had a blast! He would even lean forward and kick his legs, moving himself around the pool.

Having a blast! Morian was making him zoom up to me, which Devin just loved!

We were in the water for quite a while, before Devin decided he'd had enough! We stayed in our suits, in case we wanted to get back in later. I wrapped Devin's towel around his waist and he was pretty excited about it!
Looking pretty good in his towel! ;)

Then it was time for a late lunch/early dinner of steaks and hamburgers with potato salad, macaroni salad, chips, and corn on the cob. And of course soda!

We did get back in the pool after eating and Morian's mom and sisters joined us.
JULY 4-HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!!After church (which is at 9:00) we waited for Devin to take a nap so we could go up to my parents' house. Of all days, Devin decides to not sleep right away and after he does fall asleep, he takes a 3 hour nap! That NEVER happens! So we got up quite a bit later than I had been planning. Oh well! We had a great dinner of bbq'ed chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad, chips, fruit, veggies, green salad, and soda.
Devin having his first corn on the cob. he loved it! And did such a good job eating it!

After dinner, we all just hung out for a while, mostly watching the boys play. They are so much fun!
My nephew, Jasper- such big smiles!

My nephew Glenn- what a cheeser!

We did finally get to cake and presents for me. I actually had 2 cakes b/c I wanted to try this stuffed angel food cake recipe I found. Only the cake wasn't big enough so I just cut a layer off the top, putting cool whip, strawberries, and more cool whip in between. And then I frosted the whole thing with even more cool whip and threw some sprinkles on top! It was delicious! My mom also made a cake that had a pound cake bottom, a layer of jell-o with strawberries in it, and then "frosted" it with a cream cheese/sugar mix and made an American Flag out of strawberries and blueberries on top. Fun!
Devin looks a little nervous about that candle..he did a good job of helping me blow them out!

Devin grabbed my fork away from me and started helping himself to some cake!
JULY 5Morian, Devin, and I went and saw Toy Story 3 in the theater with Morian's mom. Devin was pretty excited when he saw the poster and recognized Buzz! He did pretty good during the movie, as we had dinner (pb&j sandwich) and snacks (gummi bears and swedish fish) for him. He did get restless about an hour or so and wanted to go out, so Morian took him out for a minute. When they came back in, we had to give Devin the rest of our sodas to keep him satisfied! After the movie, Devin was pretty excited to run in and out of the main theater doors that open automatically! Ah, the things that entertain a child!

July 6
So, my birthday. I turned 27. Wow, I'm so much closer to 30! It was a fun-packed day! I signed up for a bunch of free items, which we used. We started off the day with breakfast and IHOP. I got strawberry banana french toast and Morian got crepes. Yum!
Then we headed over to Boondocks where I got an unlimited day pass for FREE! Since Devin was too short to do anything (bummer deal dude!) we just played a round of mini-golf. Devin got to do that for free and even had his own ball and club (plastic). He took his turn hitting his ball, but pretty soon got interested only in holding his and my balls and using the big people clubs.

Hole-in-one!

We then had some fun playing the arcade games. Devin sat on our laps and helped steer our cars/boats. We even did the motorcycle kind!
Driving a race car with Daddy

Around noon, we left to take Devin home. He was so exhausted he fell asleep on the way home and luckily stayed asleep as I put him in bed. Morian's sister, Shari, came over to stay with him so Morian and I could go back to Boondocks for more fun. We ended up being gone the rest of the day. First, we went to Iceburg and I got a free raspberry banana shake b/c it was my birthday. That was our lunch!
Then we went back to Boondocks, where Morian got a deal on an unlimited pass. We did the bumper boats twice, 2 more rounds of mini-golf, go-karts, arcade games, Laser Tag (only Morian), and the XD Theater Ride (I did that one twice). We won 8o tickets and used them to get Fun Dips! Awesome!
When we finally left Boondocks at 7:00, we went to Chili's for dinner. I had a coupon for a free dessert. We decided to just get 2 appetizers (mozzarella sticks and bottomless chips and salsa) and one entree (chicken quesadilla) to share. Perfect! I am totally craving mozzarella sticks this pregnancy! Dessert was vanilla ice cream over a brownie with caramel sauce on top. I could only handle a couple bites of that brownie (way too rich!) but the ice cream was pretty good!
Too bad Morian can't have 4 day weekends every week! ;)
