Anniversary Celebration Week

To continue celebrating our anniversary, we dropped the kids off at Morian's mom's house and took off to Las Vegas! We were there from Sunday, May 5-Friday, May 10.
We saw the yellow peanut M&M
 watched a 3D M&M movie
tried 16 different sodas from around the world
 saw the Coca-cola bear
ate breakfast at the Rainforest Cafe
spent a lot of time in the MGM Grand
(the first couple nights we stayed at the MGM Towers and had to walk through the main MGM to get to the strip- on 2 different days we got paid $20 each to sit in on new TV shows and take a survey about them)
 saw lots of cool water
ate dinner (and dessert!) at the Cheesecake Factory
went to the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur (dinner and a show- food was good, had to eat it with our hands! and the show was entertaining and fun!)
went to a David Copperfield magic show
rode the roller coaster at New York New York (waaaaaay overpriced!)
and lots more! It was nice to get away, but it was nice to come home and see how happy the kids were to see us!

7 Years

This year, Morian and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. Morian kept the events a secret so I had no idea what we were doing!
First we went to The Melting Pot for dinner. Neither of us had been before, but I had wanted to give it a try for a while. Our waitress was really kind of slow about coming to check on us, so that was frustrating, but the food was really good!
Waiting for our food
First course: Spinach Artichoke Cheese Fondue

Fontina and Butterkäse cheeses, spinach, artichoke hearts and garlic.
It came with like 3 different kinds of bread and different veggies for dipping.
It was so good!
Salad course: (no pictures!)
I got the Caesar Salad

Crisp romaine lettuce, shredded Parmesan cheese, crispy croutons and an added touch of Parmesan-encrusted pine nuts, tossed with Caesar dressing.
And Morian got the California Salad
Mixed baby salad greens, Roma tomatoes, candied pecans and Gorgonzola cheese with Raspberry Black Walnut Vinaigrette

Main course: I got the Pacific Rim

Teriyaki-marinated sirloin, honey orange duck breast,
citrus-infused pork tenderloin, and chicken potstickers
It was yummy!

Morian got the Fondue Fusion

Cold water lobster tail accompanied by teriyaki-marinated sirloin, Memphis-style BBQ pork medallion, honey orange duck breast, and wild mushroom sacchetti.
To go along with our meats, we got some veggies- potatoes, broccoli, and mushrooms (though we didn't eat the mushrooms!)
For dessert, we got the Flaming Turtle

an irresistible combination of milk chocolate, caramel and candied pecans flambéed tableside.
Again, dessert was super yummy! But I was super stuffed from the other 3 courses, so it was kind of hard to really enjoy dessert. :( Next time I go I think I'll just get the cheese dip and the dessert! ;)
After dinner, we went to see the symphony. They were playing collections from John Williams. We were late and missed Star Wars (total bummer!) and Jaws but got to hear Jurassic Park, ET, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter.
It's almost hard to believe that we have been married for 7 years! Where has the time gone?! What do we have to show for it? Oh yeah, 2 crazy, but beautiful kids! Here's to another 7 more (years, not kids!)!

BYU vs Real Salt Lake

April 1- We made it to another Real Salt Lake game. This time they were playing BYU, which is why I really wanted to go! Morian's sister, Cecilia, came with us.
This game was a lot colder than the first one we went to. Brr!

Milk Cookies

These kids sure do love "milk cookies!" (aka Oreo's)

Hollywood Connection

March 21- Hollywood Connection got added to the Pass of All Passes, so we decided to take the kids and have some fun on the rides!

Real Salt Lake

March 16- The kids and I, along with my dad, went to a Real Salt Lake game (free tickets through the Pass of All Passes). This was the kids' first live sporting event. They were pretty good and had fun!

Children's Discovery Museum

On March 14, the Children's Discovery Museum had a free day, so we decided to go and give it a try (since it is normally like $8.50 per person to get in!). Since we got there near the end of the day, there weren't as many people there as there probably were earlier, but it was still more crowded than I like.
The kids had fun checking out everything and playing with new "toys."
