6 Month Check-Up and a hair cut

No, Devin did not get his first hair cut. He barely has enough hair right now as it is. He went in for the check-up and I got the haircut. But first, Devin. He weighed in at 16 lbs 7 oz and is 25.5 inches. Doc said that he is in the 25th-50th percentiles for his weight, height, and head circumference. He had to get 3 nasty shots, but he was a trooper!
This is Devin with his doctor, Dr. Sigg

Devin also had a 6 month photo shoot. It was supposed to be of him sitting up all by himself. Which he can do, I swear! But, he just was not cooperating! First, when we tried to get him to sit, he would tighten up his legs and make his whole body totally rigid. When we finally got him to sit, he got mad and sad and reached his arms out to the nearest person to hold him. We did get a few good shots, thank goodness!
I got my hair cut again. This time, I went a little shorter, but with the same basic hair cut I got in October. I was tired of seeing my hair in a ponytail every single day, unless I knew we would be going somewhere. Which means, if plans happened during the day, I went looking like a scrub. So hopefully now I can try and look a little better every day!

Please excuse these pictures. I had to take them myself in the mirror b/c there was no one else around to do it!

6 Months

Yesterday, my sweet baby turned 6 months old. How has half a year gone by already?! It's amazing how I can't quite seem to remember how life was before Devin was here. I can't believe how much he has grown. He is learning new things everyday and I love to watch him explore the things around him. He's been sticking his tongue out lately, with the tip curved up, like he's trying to touch his nose. And sometimes it looks like he is licking his lips. When Morian wags his tongue at him, Devin leans down and places his head against Morian's. It is so cute, yet we're not sure why he does that. He still loves to walk around. He's a great sitter and can even catch himself when he's leaning too far and is about to fall over. Or, when he does fall over, he doesn't cry as much and just turns over onto his back. And then does what looks like "baby crunches" to get us to stand him back up. He rolls all over the place. He doesn't seem interested in trying to learn to crawl...maybe he'll just skip that part! he is such a happy little guy! For the most part! I love to see how excited he gets when Morian comes home from work! I love Devin and am so grateful that we were blessed to have him come to our home and be a part of our family!

Rice cereal

Devin had his first taste of "real" food on Sunday. Well, baby food that is! (Since Dad sneaks him tastes of our food every once in a while!) We busted out the rice cereal, and of course we had to get it on video. This video isn't actually the very first taste he had (that one is too big) but this was during the same feeding session, only Daddy is doing the feeding, where I was feeding him first. He's had it a couple times since then and seems to be doing pretty good with it. How exciting! Maybe we'll add some fruit or veggies here in a week or so.
