Sad Day!

Bent screen: $0
Dirt on old purse: $0
Missing laptop computer: $1600
Pictures and videos of Devin: Priceless

Yep, someone broke into our apartment and stole our laptop. And, dumb me, I had not backed up any of my pictures or videos ot Devin yet. Well, I have some printed/online from birth until about January, but everything recent is all gone. :( So, if anyone out there has any pictures of little Devin that they would like to share with me, that would be fantastic! I guess you could just email them to me: kisstamarie@gmail.com. And, my camera is pretty much useless, so I can't even take any new pictures of him. I can't even tell you how upset this makes me! Here's a bit of wisdom I have learned from this unfortunate experience: Always keep your doors and windows locked when you leave home; close blinds when you leave; back up pictures onto an external hard drive, CD's/DVD's, and/or online sharing sites; and don't let creepy neighbors see into your apartment (we suspect our neighbor is the one who broke in). We are currently working with our insurance to get money for our laptop so we can go out and buy another. Hope that happens soon. Unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that our laptop will br recovered. :(
Bummer deal dude!

8 Months

Devin is now 8 months old. I can't believe that in 4 months he will be a year old. My, how time flies! He is getting to be such a big boy! Here are some of the things he does:
*He still loves to walk around while holding on to people's hands. And he is getting quite good at only holding onto 1 hand.
*He learned how to stand up from laying down while in his crib so we had to lower the mattress down. Now he can't stand up!
*If he is sitting in front of something, he'll try and grab onto it and try to pull himself up. It doesn't really work quite yet.
*He had gone through a phase in which he wouldn't eat baby food. He is eating it again and seems to gobble up anything with apple in it.
*He had juice for the first time a couple days ago in his sippy and really enjoyed it.
*His second tooth finally popped through. It was only a month behind the first!
*He loves being on our shoulders. He'll laugh and smack your head and most likely drool all over you!
*He's been sleeping through the night for a while now, which is soooo nice!
*He's also been waking up at a pretty consistent time. Unfortunately, that would be 6:00 AM!
*He had been taking pretty good naps, until a few days ago and suddenly he will hardly ever sleep longer than 30 minutes at a time. Grrr!!
*He is getting closer to crawling, which we weren't sure he would ever do! He pops up onto his hands and knees and will move his hands, but then doesn't realize he has to move his legs as well, so he just plops down onto his tummy and starts "army crawling"-pulling himself forward with his arms while letting his legs drag behind him. He sure can get around pretty good these days by himself! But he doesn't like to do it for too long. He usualy tries to pull himself into my lap and make me stand him up!
*He is ultimately the cutest baby ever! (Sorry friends who have babies! But it's true!)
*I love when he gives hugs and kisses and laughs! I love my sweet little baby!
(Sorry about the lack of pictures. My camera is on the fritz and I dunno if I'll ever get it to work right again without paying lots of money to get it fixed. Grrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

This was my first Mother's Day as a mom. (Last year I was pregnant, but not quite in the mom job!) Devin's gift to me was to wake up at 6 AM. But after I fed him, Morian was kind enough to watch him so I could go back to sleep for another hour or so. Devin had 2 more "gifts" for me- 2 long naps! One in the morning for an hour and 40 minutes; the other in the afternoon for 2 hours! I could hardly believe he slept for that long! What a good boy! Morian got me a gift certificate to get a pedicure; I am stoked to use it! And, I got something for myself. On Thursday, we went down to Provo to this jewelry store called Goldsmith Co Jewelers and got a FREE string of pearls! I'm not sure why, but they had coupons online that you could print off and bring them into the store for the free necklace. I've been wanting some pearls for a while now, so I was pretty excited! Of course I wore them to church on Sunday.
After church, Morian's mom and 3 sisters came over for dinner. Morian made dinner for us- pot roast and vegetables. It was way good! (I made the suggestion of what to make and he deicded to do it. And he did it all by himself!)
Then after I put Devin down for the night, we played Ticket to Ride. And I won! Woohoo!
I am so grateful for my mom. She is such a special person to me. I love that I live pretty close to her and can get together with her and the rest of my family fairly often. I love that my mom was able to stay home and raise us kids. It was such a blessing to have her there. And I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to stay home with Devin. I love being a mom, even though it can be hard and challenging at times. It definately has its good moments and it is so rewarding! Devin is such a good boy and I couldn't ask for a cuter baby! hehe!

3 Years

Yesterday, Morian and I celebrated our third anniversary. I can't believe we've been married for 3 years already, yet it feels so much longer sometimes, but in a good way.
I love being married to Morian! He is truly my best friend! We always have so much fun together. I couldn't ask for a better husband! Or father for my children. I am so lucky!
To celebrate, we went out, just the 2 of us, which we haven't done in a while, or too much since Devin was born. We took him to my mom's house so she could baby-sit and we went out to dinner and bowling. We ate at The Pizza Factory and bowled at Fat Cats. We ate HUGE cinnamon and sugar breadtwists!
And I finally got to wear my Christmas present from Morian- bowling shoes! They must have been good luck; I started off my first game with a double! Course, Morian got a turkey and ended up beating me in the end, 153-135. But I sure showed him the second game; 178-110! Yeah baby!
