Halloween was on a Monday this year. Devin goes to pre-school on Mondays. In class they were doing some Halloween activities/crafts or whatever and they were allowed to come in costume if they wanted. So Devin wore his wolf suit to school. We were a little nervous he would get too hot in it (it is super thick and warm) and he did! But he did have the hood up like the entire time!
Since Devin was in the wolf suit, Morian wanted to put Kenzie in the giraffe costume that Devin wore 2 years ago when he was about Kenzie's age. She made a pretty cute giraffe! After we dropped Devin off on the bus, we went and ran a few errands, keeping Kenzie dressed up as the giraffe.
Before Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhoods started, we decided to go do some TOTing at the mall, since Kenzie was going to need to go to bed "early" and may not get another chance to go. So off to the mall we went. That was quite the adventure! It seemed like most stores gave out 1 single mini tootsie roll. Lame! We ended up going the opposite direction than most of the people there so we were always bumping into crowds. Devin didn't want to wear his hood (probably b/c he had worn it all day at school, though we didn't know that at the time) so I'm sure people weren't too sure what he was, unless Kenzie was right there next to him. A lot of people did say they liked his costume though. He didn't last long though before he was in a bad mood and it was hard to keep going! First he wanted to ride the carousel. Then when we finally left he was throwing a fit about riding the train (he was stopped during the Trick-or-Treating, obviously). So, we didn't get to every store, but it's probably good we left when we did so I could get Kenzie to bed.
Here is Kenzie with the Halloween buckets waiting to get candy while Devin gets his costume on
It's a good thing we went to the mall b/c we didn't end up going out around the neighborhood at all. Devin was all psyched to go. But then Morian's mom stopped by with a little bit of candy and come movies. Devin decided he would rather watch Lion King 2 than go get more candy. I was bummed b/c I was hoping for some better candy than suckers and tootsie rolls (though I do like tootsie rolls). Oh well, there's always next year!
