Most of the Friday was the same as Thursday- he was in the ICU and trying to get his energy back. They finally took him off the oxygen completely and he did well breathing on his own. They removed the catheter and he was able to pee on his own again. They kept the feeding tube in, but he was allowed to drink, and even eat, if he wanted, though he didn't have much beyond a few sips of Sprite.
The good news was he was moved back up to the Children's Unit around 6 pm on Friday. Back to his own private room with 4 walls and a solid door! And he was actually right across the hall from the room he had been in previously.
He had a tummy ache all day and felt nauseated, but thankfully never threw up. He also spiked a fever again (the fever had finally disappeared some time while he was in the ICU) and they weren't sure why. When he had been in the ICU he had been giving 2 doses of steroids, the next step of treatments for Kawasaki when the IVIG doesn't work. That still didn't have the desired effect, so Friday night they gave him another treatment called Remicade. It's usually used to treat other things, but is used for Kawasaki as well and the doctor said the last Kawasaki patient she gave this to immediately started to get better.
Because he spent the better part of 1.5 weeks in bed, his legs were really sore and weak. He could barely stand, let alone walk.
